Pet sitting Services

Many people ask what does a pet sitter do?  We do our best to keep everything as routine as possible for your pets while they remain in their own home.  We make regular visits that we set up with the owner prior to them going away.  We feed and give fresh water.  We play with your dog in the yard or take them for a walk if that's what they're used to.  If you have cats, we scoop the litter and keep the water fresh for all the pets and follow the routine as closely as possible they're used to.  We're like the babysitter for your pets.  Our purpose is to keep them happy while your away and keep them from becoming depressed while they're home alone.

BENEFITS OF IN-YOUR-HOME PET SITTING:

  • You won't need to transport your pet to a kennel (less stress)

  • You won't have to impose on friends, relatives, or neighbors to watch your pets

  • Home security is automatically given

  • Your pet is given the same love and affection you would provide

  • You can go away knowing your pets are in good hands

We also pick up the mail, clean-up pet accidents, bring in the newspapers, water your plants, alter your lights and curtains, provide emergency transportation to your pets veterinarian, and will protect your animal in case of a hurricane, by taking it out of any evacuation locations you may be in.

When choosing your pet care provider - consider the following:

  • Will the person recognize early signs of illness -  for instance urinary problems in cats or a dog that has become lethargic?

  • Will they have time to notice the problem and deal with it if noticed?  Will the person have access to transportation if your pet becomes sick or injured in order to take it to the vet?

  • Will quality time be spent with your pet?

  • Will the person remember to visit your pet as planned?

  • Will the person clean up any messes from accidents or scoop the litter box daily?

  • Will the person give the proper amount of food, provide fresh water daily, and do they know how to give medication to your pet if needed?

  • Will your pet's normal diet be provided or will junk food be given?  Candy like chocolate can kill a dog because it's toxic to them.

  • Will the person concentrate on your home and pet instead of hurrying to get things done so they can be finished?  If a teenager is the one working for you, will they be bringing their friends into your home to help them?  Will they remember to lock your door or set the alarm for you?  Will they tell other teen friends that you're out of town?

After asking yourself the above questions - you should really consider a professional sitter like Ask Mary Pet Sitting.  We will spend time with your pets, be sure they are eating and going to the potty normally.  We will follow your instructions for feeding and cleanup pet accidents.  If your pet became ill, we will contact your vet and take appropriate action.  We won't forget to make our visits to you.  If it's hurricane season, we will have preplanned arrangements made with you as to where your pet should be taken.  You will be provided with a professional service and go away with confidence that your pets receive quality care.  After all the needs are taken care of, we give them lots of love and affection because we're animal lovers!!
